Abstract
Monolithic integration of deeply-scaled silicon optical components with CMOS analog and mixed signal circuits has high potential to provide cost-effective and low-power optical interconnects for various applications spanning from Ethernet links in new generation datacenters, to optical backplanes in servers, and extensive parallelism in high-performance computing systems by connecting together racks, modules, and chips [1].
