Fusion neutrons from exploding deuterium cluster plasmas: a possible source for time-resolved neutron damage studies

Abstract

We will present recent experimental studies of fusion yield scalings from exploding deuterium cluster plasmas ignited by laser energies up to 10 Joules and will present estimates for a fusion neutron source from a petawatt class laser.
