Abstract

We investigate low-intensity high-harmonic generation enabled by the plasmonic electric field enhancement in a mixture of a noble gas with metal nanoparticles and near random rough surfaces. The field enhancement in the range of 1000 and relatively long propagation lengths permit HHG efficiencies up to 10−6.
