Abstract
A frequency domain numerical method is developed for analyzing second harmonic generation in two-dimensional photonic crystals composed of circular cylinders in a square lattice. The method makes use of the Dirichlet-to-Neumann (DtN) maps of the unit cells to significantly reduce the total number of unknowns. An efficient Chebyshev collocation method is used to calculate a local contribution to the second harmonic field in each unit cell.
