Destruction of the Whispering Gallery Modes in Dielectric Resonators due to Shape and Curvature Perturbations

Abstract

Deformed WGM cylindrical dielectric resonators show advantages for integration into optical circuits. The mechanism of WG-modes destruction due to increasing deformation magnitude is analyzed using an efficient algorithm based on the concept of analytical regularization.
