FEM Simulation Assisted Stress Engineering for Polarization Control in SOI Waveguide Components

Abstract

We review the use of cladding stress to control the polarization properties in SOI waveguide components. Simulation and experimental results on polarization-independent AWGs and ring resonators, as well as polarization splitter and filters are presented.
