Experimental evidence for Fano resonances in plasmonic crystals

Abstract

We demonstrate experimentally that the spectral lineshapes of transmission resonances through periodic nanohole arrays in metal films can be understood as Fano resonances arising the interference between surface-plasmon-induced radiation and light tunneling through the holes.
