Observation of High-Frequency Coherent Vibrational Motion with Strongly Chirped Probe Pulses

Abstract

We observe time-domain coherent vibrational wavepackets at 1585-cm−1 frequency (21-fs period) using broadband probe pulses strongly chirped up to 150-fs duration. The results are explained theoretically using the Wigner representation of the chirped pulse.
