Effect of Two-Frequency Optical Injection on multimode vertical-cavity surface-emitting lasers

Abstract

We study experimentally the dynamics of a multimode vertical-cavity surface-emitting laser subject to two-frequency orthogonal optical injection. Polarization switching, bistability, and instabilities are observed when the bias current is adjusted.
