About optical nonlinearity of waveguide photosensitive films

Abstract

A simple experiment to demonstrate a laser intensity dependence of the photosensitive waveguide film refractive index is presented. Using diffraction measurements with spontaneous gratings, arising inside the film due to its nonlinear response, we estimated roughly the effective value of the nonlinear index of refraction.
