Abstract

The detection of a 15GHz optical modulation signal using difference frequency generation was demonstrated experimentally in periodically-poled LiTaO3 with a microwave resonator structure. It leads to high-speed optical clock/vector-modulation signal detection devices for optical fiber communication systems.
