Optically Induced Transverse Mode Conversion of Ultrashort-Pulses in Optical Waveguides

Abstract

Numerical studies and first experimental results of transverse mode conversion by optically induced long-period gratings will be presented. It will be shown how graded-index fibers can help to overcome bandwidth limitations within broadband mode-conversion.
