Nonlinear High Index-Contrast Waveguides With Optimum Geometry

Abstract

Universal design curves for nonlinear high index-contrast strip/slot waveguides are computed. Predicted nonlinearity parameters are more than three orders of magnitude larger than for highly nonlinear fibers, thus enabling ultrafast on-chip all-optical signal processing.
