Abstract

The optimal α values^1,2for GeO₂ -doped waveguides vary significantly with wavelength.^3-6 For example, a 0.20-NA waveguide, which has the optimal profile for operation at 0.85 μm, is predicted to have a bandwidth of 700 MHz-km at 1.3 μm.
