Tunable 40 GHz Pulse Source Based on XPM-Induced Wavelength Shifting in Highly Nonlinear Fiber

Abstract

A simple and robust 40 GHz pulse source has been demonstrated by using cross-phase modulation induced wavelength shifting in 200 m highly nonlinear fiber with subsequent optical filtering. The generated pulses are pulse width and wavelength tunable.
