Abstract

We describe an advanced high isolation thin-film filter for passive optical networks. A novel proprietary coating technology called “Grand-Ex technology” using an ion-beam sputtering process demonstrates a highest filter performance ever reported for triplexer modules. An advanced thin-film filter shows a transmission isolation and a reflection isolation of 44 dB and 52 dB, respectively, between a digital signal band at 1490 nm and a video signal band at 1555 nm.
