Influence of channel correlation on the scintillation performance of receiver diversity systems for free-space optical communications

Abstract

We derive a generalized model for channel correlation in aperture receiver diversity systems and discuss its effect on the scintillation of a dual-receiver system. An approximation for the correlation length under strong turbulence is obtained.
