Automated Hilger-Chance refractometer for index measurement of liquids

Abstract

A method for automating refractive index measurements of liquids has been implemented on a Hilger-Chance refractometer. A beam angle sensor using a position-sensitive detector enables automated determination of angles usually obtained by visual reading.
