Negative Index Metamaterials Based on Electric and Magnetic Resonances of Dielectric Silicon Carbide Particles

Abstract

Conventionally, negative index metamaterials comprise arrays of optically resonant metallic structures. Here, experiments and theory show that Mie resonances of subwavelength dielectric particles can be exploited to construct a new class of negative index metamaterials.
