Synthetic Fused Silica: Unique Material Properties and Some New Applications

Abstract

Synthetic fused silica, one of the purest man made materials, shows unique optical properties like ultralow absorption, birefringence and high power laser durability in the UV and IR. Some new applications will be discussed.
