Abstract
Requirements for local polishing techniques for the generation of micro-aspheres are discussed identifying abrasive slurry jet techniques as possible polishing processes featuring sub-millimeter footprint sizes. Their application to the removal of sub-millimeter structures on larger optics as well as their applicability to generate micro-aspheres with sub-millimeter radii of curvature are presented.
