Abstract
Self-cleaning Al mirror system with a photocatalytic titania thin film as the outermost layer was designed realizing a higher ultra-violet (UV) light absorption by the titania layer and a neutral reflectance spectrum in visible region. The photo-degradation rate of the mirror system is about 1.3 times improved compared to the titania single layer. Hydrophilic conversion rate, the slope of the reciprocal water contact angle versus irradiation time, of the mirror system is 3.3 times higher than the titania single layer.
