Abstract

The photorefractive (PR) properties of high performance PR organic monolithic glasses containing dicyanomethylenedihydrofuran (DCDHF) chromophores are reviewed. Two-beam coupling net gain coefficients of ~200–400 cm−1 were obtained at the wavelengths of 676 nm and 830 nm. Beam self-focusing and defocusing observed in DCDHF glasses are discussed. Beam guiding in the optically induced waveguide is demonstrated.
