All-Optical Switching In Silicon Ring Resonators

Abstract

We demonstrate selective all-optical control of a single resonance in a silicon micro-ring resonator using Raman-induced loss. This enables a single micro-ring to act as a broadband reconfigurable all-optical add-drop multiplexer (ROADM).
