Thermal management in high-power vertical-external-cavity surface-emitting lasers

Abstract

Thermal properties of vertical-external-cavity surface-emitting lasers are studied in the high-power regime. The influence of pump profiles is investigated by spacially resolved temperature measurements. Optimized cooling provides 72 W output power.
