Electromagnetically induced transparency in an individual Fano resonator metamaterial

Abstract

We observe metamaterial induced transparency in a single Fano resonator array. In a perfect symmetric configuration, a broad dipolar resonance is excited whereas a high Q transparency window opens as the structural symmetry is broken.
