Abstract

A review of Bragg fiber optic sensor demodulation systems is presented, with emphasis on systems relevent to structural sensing. Demodulation system architectures are reviewed in detail, and an overview of distributed sensor demodulation techniques and multiplexing techniques is included. Systems based on tunable lasers and quantum well electroab-sorption photodetectors are highlighted as holding particular promise.
