Abstract

Coupling losses and high-order dispersion in the slow-light regime of photonic-crystal (PhC) waveguides are investigated by utilizing an integrated Mach-Zehnder interferometer. Furthermore, PhC cavities coupled to photonic-wires through surface-states are experimentally characterized.
