Enhanced Echo Retrieval Efficiency Using Ultraslow Light

Abstract

Using ultraslow light phenomenon, we report two-orders of magnitude enhanced photon echo efficiency in a rare-earth doped solid medium, where the enhancement is due to lengthened photon-atom interaction time in a dilute optical medium.
