Abstract
Modulation of intracavity losses is an important tool for controlling laser dynamics [1], for active mode-locking [2], and for synchronization of different lasers. In this paper, we present an optical device that allows for fast modulation of the intracavity losses by external illumination and its application as an intracavity device for active mode-locking and laser synchronization.
