Structural Dynamics in Water Probed by Heterodyne-Detected Photon Echo

Abstract

Results of heterodyne-detected IR photon echo experiments on water at room temperature are reported. The measured time constants of 130 fs and 900 fs are attributed to dynamics of a single hydrogen bond and the hydrogen-bond network, respectively.
