Abstract

The dynamics responsible for triggering the Photoactive Yellow Protein photocycle have been disentangled with the dispersed ultrafast pump-dump-probe spectroscopy technique, where the photocycle can be started and interrupted with appropriately tuned and timed laser pulses.
