Femtosecond synchronization of RF-signals with optical pulse trains

Abstract

A synchronization scheme for extraction of low jitter RF-signals from optical pulse trains, which is robust against photo-detector nonlinearities, is described. Sub-100 fs timing jitter between the extracted RF-signal and a 100 MHz pulse train is demonstrated.
