Plasmon enhanced ultrafast optical transmission in metallic nano-arrays

Abstract

Periodic, sub-wavelength silver slit arrays have a significant effect on the propagation of ultrashort optical pulses. Due to surface plasmon effects, enhanced transmission, significant pulse train re-radiation, and super-luminal light flow are observed.
