Abstract

We use optical pump-terahertz probe spectroscopy for exploring photoinduced ionization and plasma formation in atmospheric gases. Multiphoton versus strong-field photoionization processes are investigated using variable intensity, polarization and wavelength of the femtosecond optical pump pulses.
