Abstract

Threshold-versus-intensity curves for Stiles’s π4 mechanism, which was reported by Sigel and Brousseau [ J. Opt. Soc. Am. 72, 237– 246 ( 1982)] as rejecting shape invariance, may not do so. It is still plausible that π4 shows both shape invariance and field additivity.
