Optimized Block Synchronization of optical packet overhead in OPS Networks

Abstract

A packet format employed in optical packet switching (OPS) networks is proposed. The performance of block synchronization of the burst-ode optical packets is analyzed. Based on the analysis, the length of overhead synchronization bits is optimized to achieve high framing efficiency.
