Abstract

New type of photodetector with cascaded waveguide grating filters as bottom reflection mirror is proposed. Compared with traditional photodetector with distributed Bragg reflectors (DBRs), this new type of photodetector require significantly fewer layer for narrow flat-top response, high peak efficiency and low sideband reflectance.
