Performance Improvement in RoF Links Based on Optical Carrier Suppression using a Phase-Shifted FBG

Abstract

A new scheme is proposed and demonstrated which uses a phase-shifted FBG as an optical filter to suppress the optical carrier of DSB signal in RoF links, providing improved performance and flattened RF gain response.
