Abstract

This paper reports the development of zeolite thin film-coated optical fiber sensor for directly measuring trace organic vapors. The sensor was based on multimode interference (MMI) effects. By using a single mode-multimode-single mode (SMS) structure and zeolite coated on non-cladding multimode fiber, organic vapors could be detected and the experimental data shows that the sensor performs well in terms of sensitivity and linearity.
