Abstract
We analyze the performance of MIMO systems fed by fiber-radio links and show that the separation of the MIMO antennas increases the overall coverage area and leads to improved throughput. The requirements on the optical radio feeding system are discussed and it is shown that optical loss imbalances critically affect the overall MIMO performance.
