Enhanced Performance of Photo-EMF Detectors Using Asymmetric Interdigital Contacts

Abstract

We show that photo-emf detectors using asymmetric interdigital contacts have a responsivity that increases linearly with the number of electrode pairs relative to a single-pair, conventional device. We demonstrate a 32-fold enhancement using this scheme.
