Abstract

Properties of Stimulated Raman scattering (SRS) in a new Raman-active BaWO4 crystal in steady-state conditions were investigated. BaWO4 crystal (33 mm long) was pumped by 5.1-ns long second harmonic pulses of Nd:YAG laser. The influence of various experimental setups (single-pass, double-pass and resonator arrangements) on threshold of SRS generation was determined. Raman gain in a single-and double-pass scattering layout was evaluated. The Stokes radiation temporal shortening level in dependence on scattering arrangement was investigated. Raman laser emitting 560-nm radiation was constructed.
