Abstract

A cryogenically cooled composite-thin-disc multipass laser amplifier with strict relay imaging and ASE rejection is implemented that overcomes traditional laser system problems in pulsed laser drivers of high average power. Our first prototype produced 220 mJ quasi-cw output pulses at 100 Hz in line with predictions.
