Spectroscopic and infrared laser properties of Nd:CaF2 crystals obtained via codoping with Y3+ and Lu3+ buffer ions

Abstract

Co-doping Nd:CaF2 crystals with Y3+ and Lu3+ ions significantly improves their spectral properties and laser performance. The spectral profiles simplify and get wider, the quantum yields increase and efficient laser operation is obtained at 1.055µm.
