Abstract

Progress in fabrication and mid-IR lasing of Cr and Fe thermal-diffusion doped ZnSe/S polycrystals is reported. Multi-Watt-level (30W) CW output, tunability in excess of 1000nm, short-pulse (<50fs) multi-watt oscillation, multi-Joule long-pulse output energy are demonstrated.
