Yb fiber laser chirped pulse amplifier system using a fiber Bragg grating stretcher matched to the Treacy compressor

Abstract

Chirped-pulse amplification of a modelocked Yb fiber laser in a large modearea polarization-maintaining Yb-fiber using a nonlinearly-chirped fiber Bragg-grating stretcher is demonstrated. Pulses with 8nm bandwidth are amplified to 43μJ and 1000x recompressed to 900fs.
