Thermally stimulated tunable narrow-band infrared emitters and detectors facilitated by surface plasmon modes in metallized two-dimensional photonic lattices

Abstract

We present both theoretical and experimental evidence on the development of a novel mid-infrared thermally-stimulated narrow-band emitter (detector) with less than 10% spectral bandwidth, facilitated by surface plasmon modes in a metallized-surface 2D photonic crystal.
