Abstract

We report on a highly efficient (over 60% slope efficiency) 1.3-µm cw Nd:GdVO4 laser pumped by a 879-nm Ti:Sapphire laser. Non-radiative transition induced heat generation in Nd:GdVO4 crystal under lasing and non-lasing conditions are discussed.
