Abstract

Laser action with 2dBm output power was demonstrated in waveguides fabricated on a erbium-ytterbium-doped phosphate glass by direct writing with femtosecond pulses from a cavity-dumped Yb:glass laser (166 KHz repetition rate, 300 fs pulse duration).
